Crosswinds Duo

~ Recitals ~ Outreach ~ Masterclasses ~ Residencies ~

Crosswinds Duo entertains and educates audiences by presenting the amazing diversity of the woodwind family of instruments. Multi-instrumentalists Jay C. Easton and Bruce R. Carpenter use a wide array of woodwind instruments to bring audiences an eclectic variety of musical styles and colors. Crosswinds presentations introduce the listener to the history, repertoire, and unique personalities of the instruments of the woodwind family: programs may include various types of flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboes, bassoon, historical reed instruments, and more. The instruments in Crosswinds' unique collection range in size from the tiny four-inch piccolo recorder to the astonishing six-foot contrabass saxophone. Their repertoire draws on every era of classical music and includes a variety of jazz and ethnic music styles as well. Both formal concert and educational programs are available, including masterclasses, residencies, and ensemble coachings for all woodwind instruments
